Welcome to My Portfolio

I'm a Vancouver-based engineering leader and indie game developer. I've spent most of my career building SaaS products and, more recently, games — and this site is where I write about both.

Over the years I've worked on everything from platforms used by Fortune 500 companies to a hackathon-winning indie game, usually wearing some combination of the engineer, product, and founder hats at the same time.

Work Experience

Fifteen-plus years across engineering, product management, and game development. The short version:

Hypercontext (2021–2024)

As Co-Founder and CTO of Hypercontext, a Y-Combinator backed Startup, I led engineering and product teams to build a modular SaaS platform supporting 250,000+ users. Highlights include developing AI-powered tools for performance management, scaling microservices to process 1.25M daily requests, and earning a Webby nomination for innovative product design.

Soapbox Innovations (2010–2021)

At Soapbox Innovations, I co-founded and scaled an enterprise SaaS platform serving Fortune 500 companies, including Coca-Cola, Walmart, BMO Financial and Anthem Insurance. As CTO, I led cross-functional teams of 35+, drove product-led growth, and created impactful strategies that improved user activation and retention. Soapbox was also recognized as one of the “Best Workplaces in Canada” in 2016.

Independent Game Studio (2020–Present)

I founded Alien Planet Games, an indie studio working in Unity with a focus on multiplayer systems. My team won a 2024 GDC hackathon and landed a six-figure creative IP deal off the back of it.

Early Career

At Toronto Metropolitan University I led award-winning projects in academic technology services and ran the university's mobile platform — one of the first Canadian universities to ship apps on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Education
